If you’re not finding the style you need, download it from the EndNote Styles site, You can easily reformat the paper in a different journal format: In the Word EndNote toolbar choose the journal style desired from the Style dropdown box. Eventually you’ll want to select this style in the Style Manager, so it appears on your list of favorite styles: Edit / Output styles / Open style Manager.ĮndNote has over 5000 styles available, but the usual EndNote installation often doesn’t include all of them. A list of the available output styles will pop up choose the style you need. Note: If the dropdown list doesn’t show the journal style you need, choose “Select another style”. If they aren’t, on the EndNote Toolbar just click on “Update Citations and Bibliography”
In Word, you will notice that your citations and reference list are automatically formatted in whichever style you chose. On your own device you first need to download the plugin from EndNote Online. Select Downloads and follow the instructions under Cite While You Write, either Download Windows or Download Macintosh.
Select the citation(s) you wish to insert. You can link to Word using EndNote’s Cite While You Write function. Click "Insert Citation" and then "Find Citation" to select the citaiton you want to insert. Place the cursor where you need to insert a citation. Place the cursor where you need to insert a citation then o n the Insert menu, click Footnote. 
Select the style you wish to use from the format/Configure Bibliography.
Open the EndNote toolbar by clicking on the EndNote tab in Word. Open the Word document you are working on or start a new Word document. The EndNote plugin for Microsoft Word allows you to easily add references to Word documents and format citations in common citation styles. You might want to create a Group that has all the citations you need so it’s easier to locate the required references. EndNote is a tool that allows you to collect citation information for articles, organize and add notes to your collected citations, and share grouped citations with others. Repeat the above steps to insert additional references into your document. Search for the author or topic of the reference you want to add. Have the EndNote library open that contains the citations of interest. Insert Citations Place your cursor in the document where you would like to insert an in-text citation. Using Styles, EndNote will format the citations within the document as well as create the bibliography of cited references at the end of the manuscript. When you install EndNote, an EndNote Toolbar will be installed in your MS Word program. In Word for Windows, click on the Preferences tool on the right of the EndNote tool pane.
